On this fine Sunday morning I awoke to find many blessings. Blessings sit in front of us each day and present themselves continually, but it's up to us to be awake and aware so that we see them.
My first blessing was this treasury, We March to Our Own Drums.
The curator, LornaJane from Obsidianrain on Etsy, featured my soldered pendant, March to your drum. I'm sure she didn't plan it, nor does she know me personally, but the entire treasury represents me in some way or another. The colors represent my inner self, and some of the choices, are my favorite colors. The pieces chosen celebrate my philosophies on life, my love, and respect for nature or my favorite things. So besides being one of the featured shops in the treasury, I love that her choices represented who I am as a person. A double blessing.
The second blessing was this treasury, also curated by Lornajane. My dangling pink swirl earrings were featured in this lovely team treasury.
The last blessing, but certainly not the least was this treasury feature, by Bonnie Becker of Busybonniebee, on Etsy. My sunflower girl soldered pendant was included. I wanted to share why this treasury feature was so important to me and touched me so deeply.
First, the treasury was created featuring art that had the name BECKER in it, or items created by people who's last name is Becker. I married into this incredible family and feel blessed that I have been able to share my life with such a wonderful man. In August, my husband and I will celebrate 18 years together, 12 years married. My husband, Shayne, was one of 2 guys my brother ever approved of. He loved him so much, so I'm honored to share my life with a person that was adored by my brother.
On December 13, 2008 I lost my brother. You can read about it here: http://whimsicaljewels.blogspot.com/2008/12/angels-called-home.html
On many different levels my life changed when I lost my brother. Transformed. I still don't understand it completely, but I know, that it's not for me to understand. There was a reason, a purpose. I know somewhere in this world he exists, his spirit still speaks with me and I'm grateful for the visits.
This treasury was one of those perfect moments in time, a visit that said hello. I am a great believer in energy and connecting to it in this realm and beyond. The sunflower girl soldered pendant was a perfect representation of me. I am the sunflower girl. Sunflowers are my favorite flower and I love their significance and their meaning. I hope that in my life, I'm shining a light that yields blessings and more life. Then at the very top of the treasury, the Volkswagen Beetle, painted by Richard Becker, is represented by my brother. In one unique painting, my brother is represented on so many levels. My family came to love Volkswagons through my father. My brother especially loved the VW rabbit, so much that he had the VW rabbit emblem tattooed on his arm. My brother's favorite color was green and he loved the history and culture of aboriginal people, so the aztec imagery seen in Richard's painting is perfect for this energy connection.
I'm filled with gratitude to be featured so many times in one day and hope you will take a look at all of the great shops that were featured in each of the treasuries.
If you are looking for the summer art camps I will be teaching this summer, here's the blog posting about it: http://whimsicaljewels.blogspot.com/2012/05/i-am-pleased-to-offer-6-weeks-of-summer.html and here's the link on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/406571149387736/
